Projects and Activities

Community Outreach Programmes.

Our major activity is to run Disability Awareness programmes through outreaches in communities, schools, hospitals and other institutions. This is aimed at reducing stigma about disabilities, increase self-esteem for people with disabilities, and educate the rest of the community about disability.

Networking partnerships & referrals

In this programme we intended to encourage and promote partnerships with other existing stakeholders in the field of disability. This will help us to form a strong network of stakeholders that will create easy access to services through referrals, sharing of knowledge and experiences etc. by all the stakeholders in Jinja District and the surrounding communities.

Day Care Services.

In this programme, we aim at offering basic education skills , provide trainings in self-help skills, provide physio and occupational therapy to those who require it. This is tailored to equip them with skills that will sustain them in their day today living.

Vocational Skills Programme.

In this programme we provide tailoring and carpentry skills. Many people with disabilities don’t have the opportunity to acquire such skills yet when they are given the chance, they can make a decent living from these skills together with their carers.
